The method involves implementing sucking at a suction side of a compressor (1) till a preset pressure, and measuring high pressure, which is at a pressure side of the compressor. The measured high pressure is compared and evaluated with a reference high pressure, which results with actual filling capacity of a refrigerant. The lack of refrigerant amount is determined from the difference between the measured high pressure and the reference high pressure.
