PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving image editing device which uses a smart rendering system for minimizing variation of reproduction time even when material data in which minimum time unit does not match a storage format is edited. SOLUTION: The moving image editing device has a material format acquisition means 202 for acquiring a material format which is a moving image format of the material data. In addition, the moving image editing device has a format judgment means 203 for judging whether or not the material format obtained by the material format acquisition means 202 matches to the storage format which is the moving image format to be stored. In addition, the moving image editing device has a format conversion means 204 for converting the material data into the storage format and a coupling means 205 for sequentially coupling pieces of moving image data obtained by the format conversion means 204 to generate moving image data which is a storage result.
