PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hard disk device which is stably operable even in a small space. SOLUTION: In a disk cartridge 16, two HDD's 50a and 50b are stacked together to be housed so that the installation surfaces of spindle motors 52a and 52b face each other. A heater 30 is disposed between the HDD's 50a and 50b, and thus the two HDD's 50a and 50b are simultaneously heated by one heater 30. A temperature sensor 32 is disposed near a seek motor 54a of the preferentially used first HDD 50a of the two HDD's 50a and 50b. A control circuit (not shown) controls driving of the heater 30 according to a temperature detected by the temperature sensor 32, and maintains the temperatures of the HDD's 50a and 50b within a temperature rage guaranteed.
