<p>A skip down shift control method of an automatic transmission of a vehicle is provided to stabilize a speed shifting process of the automatic transmission by coupling a main transmission with a sub transmission. An automatic transmission includes a clutch-to-one-direction clutch and a sub transmission. Whether a multiple skip down shift request is detected is determined during a high speed operation region. When the multiple skip down request is detected, a target speed is determined. Then, a hydraulic pressure, which is supplied to a release-side clutch of a next sub transmission, is rapidly drained out. An engine torque decreasing process is performed, such that sub transmission is synchronized with the target speed. The engine torque decreasing process is performed according to an ignition timing recognition scheme.</p> |
