A secondary battery is provided to improve the reliance and stability of a secondary battery by setting precisely the pressure where current is intercepted. A secondary battery comprises an electrode group which comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a separator interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode; a case where the electrode group is accommodated; and a cap assembly which is combined with the case to seal it, wherein the cap assembly comprises a cap plate having an electrode terminal, a safety plate(50) having a projection(58) located below the cap plate, an insulator located between the safety plate, and an auxiliary plate(60) located below the insulator so as to be connected electrically with the electrode group and having a hole(62) for putting the projection. |
