DISPLAY SUBSTRATE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THEREOF

A display substrate and a method of manufacturing the display substrate are provided to form an insulating layer in a stair shape on a short point such that photoresist smoothly flows on the short point so as to prevent the generation of smear on a transparent electrode. A gate insulating layer(120) and an active layer(132,134) are formed on a gate line and a gate electrode(G) formed in a display area of a base substrate(110) and a short point(SP) formed in a peripheral area. The active layer is patterned to form a block pattern corresponding to the edge of the short point, and a passivation layer(140) is formed on the base substrate including the block pattern. A stair-shaped contact hole(CNT1) for exposing the short point is formed by using the block pattern. A transparent electrode layer(PE) is formed on the base substrate including the contact hole. A photoresist layer is formed on the transparent electrode layer using spin coating. The photoresist layer is patterned so as to pattern the transparent electrode layer.
