<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector 10 capable of securing holding force of an FPC 22 required with a small number of conductors not so as to cause connection failure. <P>SOLUTION: The connector 10 is detachably fitted to an FPC 22 and includes a the required number of contacts 14 having contact portions 30 contacting with the FPC 22, and a housing 12 having an a fitting opening 24 to which the contacts 14 are held and fixed and into which the FPC 22 is inserted. The PFC 22 is provided with a locking portion 54. A lock member 20 having an engaging portion 56 engaging with the locking portion 54 is attached to the housing 12 and the engaging portion 56 of the lock member 20 is engaged with the locking portion 54, so that the FPC 22 is prevented from coming off the housing 12.
