An auto power save circuit of an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) television is provided to control brightness automatically if the LCD television is used as a monitor of a PC, and limit power supply to an unnecessary circuit block. An AD(Analog to Digital) converter(10) converts a video signal of a PC(Personal Computer) into a digital signal. A resolution converter(20) controls a resolution of an output of the AD converter. An inverter(30) displays brightness of the video signal, converted by the resolution converter, in a display(40) in a state darker than reference brightness of a television receiving mode. A controller(50) controls brightness of a video displayed on the display by controlling the inverter.
