A vacuum cleaner and a dust collection apparatus thereof are provided to discharge impurities easily by forming a cover member for simultaneously opening and closing a first dust storage part and a second dust storage part. A dust collection apparatus comprises a dust collection body(110), an air suction port, an air discharging port, a first dust storage part(122), and a second storage part(150). The dust collection body has a first dust separation part for separating dust from sucked air. The air suction port is connected to the lower part of the first dust separation part. The air discharging port discharges air separated from the first dust separation part. The first dust storage part stores air separated from the first dust separation part. The second dust storage part stores dust separated from the air discharged through the air discharging port. The air is discharged to the lower part of the first dust separation part through the air discharging port. The first dust storage part is formed at the outside of the first dust separation part, and the second dust storage part is installed at the outside of the dust storage part. A cover member simultaneously opens and closes the first and second dust storage parts.
