PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state imaging device and its driving method for performing photographing by the number of storage elements or more in the case of photographing a phenomenon by a high speed camera incorporated in a storage element, and for compounding and outputting information stored in the storage element, and for reading all the information by one time of reading operation. SOLUTION: In the solid-state imaging device configured by arranging a plurality of pixels like a matrix, each pixel includes: a photoelectric conversion element for performing the photoelectric conversion of the rays of light, and for outputting signal charge; a plurality of storage elements for storing the signal charge output from the photoelectric conversion element; and a means for compounding at least two information among information stored in the plurality of storage elements, and for storing it in any of the plurality of storage elements, wherein the information from the photoelectric conversion element in different time is successively stored in the storage element, and new information acquired by compounding the plurality of information is stored in the storage elements.
