PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding material or a molding part and a process of producing the same which permit a high quality of the sand cores and uniform densification of the molding material particles, further, to improve the thermal load bearing capacity of the molding parts produced with longer service lives of the mold, and to easily destroy the mold and the core with mechanical means and to transfer the same into their starting components. SOLUTION: The molding material or molding part comprises 1 to 10% of binding agent based on alkali silicate, and aggregate containing 1 to 10 percent by weight of amorphous silicon dioxide, remainder quartz sand with a grain size range of 0.01 to 5 mm. The amorphous silicon dioxide is spherical, and the ratio of the grains with a diameter of≥45μm is≤1.5 wt.%. On the surface of the silicon dioxide, there is to be formed a swelling phase which comprises a thickness of 0.5 to 1% with reference to the mean grain diameter. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
