PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that conventional electric-dust-collection type air cleaners electrostatically charges particles in the air, e.g. dust, pollen and smoke of tobacco and therefore leads to the adhesion of the particles to wall surface surrounding the body of the cleaner and resultant fouling, and to provide an air cleaner which can prevent fouling of wall surface surrounding the body of the cleaner and allows a user to decide an installation location of the cleaner without paying attention to the possibility of the fouling.
SOLUTION: The air cleaner has a fan motor 2 serving as an air-blowing means for ventilating the body 1 of the cleaner, a charging section 3 for charging particles in the air, a dust collecting section 4 capturing charged particles, an ultrasonic sensor 5 serving as a means of measuring the spacing from the wall surface in the space where its body is arranged, and a controlling section 6 controlling the maximum air capacity of the fan motor 2. The fouling of wall surface surrounding the body of the cleaner can be prevented by controlling the maximum air capacity of the fan motor 2 according to the spacing from the wall surface.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
|
