PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision testing device capable of verifying operation of a collision damage reducing device. SOLUTION: Passage of a test car 1 is detected by two pairs of laser sensors 21, 22 and laser reflection plates 31, 32, and the traveling speed Vn is calculated from a time tn required for passage therebetween and a distance D2 therebetween. A collision time Ti when the test car 1 reaches the position of a rail 71 and collides with a dummy doll 100 is operated from the traveling speed Vn and a distance D1 between a laser sensor 22 and the rail 71. A dummy doll requiring time required for movement of the dummy doll 100 from an initial position to a collision scheduled position D3 is calculated from moving speed Vt of the dummy doll 100 and the collision scheduled position D3. Movement of the dummy doll 100 is started precedently as much as the dummy doll requiring time before the collision time Ti. Hereby, the test car 1 can collide with the dummy doll 100 at the collision scheduled position D3 even if the traveling speed Vn is changed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
