PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drive a supporting arm to a hold position along an outer periphery of a container by mechanical mechanism with a single operation, to stably hold the container by fixing the supporting arm at the hold position, and to manually retract the supporting arm from a holder hole while the container is taken out from the hold position. SOLUTION: The cup holder comprises an energizing means energizing the supporting arm in a direction entering the holder hole, a locking means temporary locking the supporting arm at a position retracting from the holder hole, an energizing permitting means releasing the locking of the locking means by the pressing force of the container inserted in the holder hole and permitting the energizing of the energizing means, a fixing means fixing the supporting arm by the mechanical mechanism while the supporting arm abuts on an outer peripheral surface of the container, and a releasing means releasing the fixing of the supporting arm by the fixing means when the container is taken out from the holder hole, and allowing the supporting arm to move in a direction retracting from the holder hole by the mechanical mechanism.
