<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which suppresses character inside missing and achieves good transfer efficiency even when amorphous silicon photoreceptors are used in the image forming apparatus using a tandem development method. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus using the tandem development method, an average particle diameter Rn of silica with which each toner has been surface-treated satisfies R1≤R2≤...≤Rn and R1<Rn, wherein n is an integer of ≥2 showing the total number of colors of image forming toners, and Rn represents an average particle diameter of silica with which a toner in a developer to be subjected to n-th transfer has been surface-treated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
