PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a target location guiding method and system for displaying a location relationship between a current location measured by a location sensor and a target location as a goal on a portable terminal, and guiding a user to the target location by using a method for easily inputting the target location. SOLUTION: A portable terminal uses an image scanner, reads a map, and captures the map as a digital map. The location sensor in a satellite positioning system measures two reference latitude/longitude coordinate values written on the map and confirmed in the field. Two reference latitude/longitude coordinate values are converted into coordinate values in a Cartesian coordinate system. A value in the Cartesian coordinate system corresponding to each dot on the digital map is calculated. The portable terminal receives information from the location sensor in the satellite positioning system and a correction signal from a radio device, and displays the digital map so as to match the current location output from the location sensor with a pointer of the current location on the digital map.
