<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability during image selection by a user when many images are displayed on a screen simultaneously. <P>SOLUTION: In order to make the user imagine to choose photograph out of printed film photographs scattered on a desk on a thumbnail display screen, part of images are rotated and displayed with a predetermined angleθ(0<θ<360 degrees). If the user moves a focal frame and chooses an image, the orientation of image is made to be in agreement with a reference direction and displayed.
