PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire alarm for a residence, which arranges an operation switch acting also as a test switch and an alarm stop switch on a simple place without requiring a pulling string. SOLUTION: The fire alarm for the residence is connected to a power supply line L through the operation switch SW and provided with a fire detection part 11 for detecting fire factors such as smoke and heat and a control means 10 capable of starting in an alarm stop mode and inhibiting alarm output if a fire factor is detected when a power supply is turned on, and if no fire factor is detected, starting in a test mode, testing an inner circuit and outputting the test result as a test alarm.
