STEEL CORD FOR REINFORCING RUBBER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME, AND PNEUMATIC TIRE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel cord excellent in flare resistance while forming the cord in a long pitch reduced in number of twist and to provide a method for producing the steel cord and to provide a pneumatic tire using the steel cord in a belt layer or a carcass layer and excellent in endurance. SOLUTION: The steel cord 5 for reinforcing rubbers is obtained by wrapping a cord 3a or a monofilament 3b composed of an aliphatic polyketone fiber at a winding pitch corresponding to (1/5) to (1/2) of a twist pitch around a steel cord 2 prepared by twisting steel raw wires 1 each having 0.15-0.50 mm wire diameter in a long pitch and carrying out heat treatment of wrapped steel cord to retain wrapping shape. The method for producing the steel cord 5 is also provided. The pneumatic radial tire 8 is obtained by applying the steel cord 5 for reinforcing rubbers to a belt layer 12 and/or a carcass layer 10.
