METHOD FOR AREA EVENT TRIGGERED SERVICE IN SUPL AND TERMINAL THEREOF

A method and a terminal for an area event triggered service based on SUPL are provided to offer the area event triggered service based on the SUPL by setting plural areas and/or plural area events, and reduce a waste of system resources as it is unnecessary to commence an area event session whenever each area event occurs. A method for an area event triggered service comprises the following steps of: allowing an SUPL(Secure User Plane Location) server to receive an area event triggered service request including plural area event triggered conditions from a source terminal; allowing the SUPL server to transmit the area event triggered conditions to a target terminal according to the request of the source terminal; performing an SUPL area event triggered session with the target terminal; and performing an SUPL positioning session for calculating the location of the target terminal between the SUPL server and the target terminal whenever the plural area event triggered conditions are respectively generated.
