A disk device and an electronic apparatus are provided to reduce a time required to start the disk device and decrease power consumed to drive the disk device. A disk device(43) includes a nonvolatile memory(430), an operation interruption processor(441,444) and an operation start processor(442,445). The nonvolatile memory stores information on starting of an apparatus in which the disk device is mounted. The operation interruption processor receives a predetermined operation interruption event, reads starting information stored in a disk(101) from the disk, compares the read starting information with the starting information stored in the nonvolatile memory, re-records the contents of the nonvolatile memory so that the same starting information as the starting information of the disk is stored in the nonvolatile memory, and records flag information indicating the storage of the same starting information in the nonvolatile memory. The operation start processor receives a predetermined operation start event, reads the starting information from the nonvolatile memory when the flag information is stored in the nonvolatile memory to start the apparatus and erases the flag information. The operation start processor reads out the starting information from the disk to start the apparatus and records the read starting information in the nonvolatile memory when the flag information is not recorded in the nonvolatile memory.
