<p>A method and a communication device for realizing a propagation delay of a physical random access channel in a wide coverage, the method includes: obtaining an actual propagation delay during a random access process on NodeB; representing the actual propagation delay by using a reporting bit number of the propagation delay and a quantification precision corresponding to the current searched cell, wherein the quantification precision and the reporting bit number of the propagation delay are determined by the maximum cell radius, so that the maximum cell radius can be represented by the corresponding bit number of the propagation delay after the propagation delay has been quantified with the quantification precision; and transmitting the quantified propagation delay to a radio network controller RNC on NodeB.</p> |
