PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a release agent for crepe paper, which is excellent in storage stability and in dispersibility in water, and furthermore, lower in ignition risk than conventional release agents, and highly safe in use, storage and transportation. SOLUTION: The release agent for crepe paper comprises (A) an oil, (B) an emulsifier including a compound having 4-20C alkyl and/or alkenyl group(s), and (C) water. In this release agent, the compound of the emulsifier B is preferably an alkylene oxide adduct. This release agent has the advantage of having higher dispersibility in water than that of conventionally known release agents for crepe paper and also has such an excellent property, i.e. such high storage stability as not to separate over a long period.
