PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rack shaft support device capable of accomplishing the enhancement of steering feeling at low cost. SOLUTION: A recession groove 14 extending in an axial direction X1 is formed on the outer peripheral surface 7b of a rack shaft 7. A projection 18 projected in an urging direction X3 is formed on the front surface 10a of the support member 10. The projection 18 is integrally formed of a single material on the support member 10. The projection 18 is engaged with a recessed groove 14 of the rack shaft 7 and the displacement of the rack shaft 7 in a direction X4 perpendicular to both the axial direction X1 of the rack shaft 7 and the urging direction X3 is regulated.
