ROLLING BEARING DEVICE FOR WHEEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling bearing device for a wheel in which mounting of a sensor is facilitated. SOLUTION: This device comprises an outer ring 2 fixed to a vehicle body side, an inner shaft 1 on which a wheel is mounted, two rows of rolling elements 3a and 3b interposed between the both to be capable of rolling, and a displacement sensor 6 detecting deformation behavior of a slit 7 formed in the outer ring 2. A load applied onto the outer ring 2 is determined from the deformation behavior of the slit 7 detected by the sensor 6. The sensor 6 is composed of a noncontact displacement sensor including a mounting part 25 mounted on one inner wall surface 8 constituting the slit 7, and a measurement part 26 disposed to be opposed to the other inner wall surface 9 constituting the slit 7 through a space.
