PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pontoon construction method for constructing a pontoon by joining concrete blocks with each other, in which conventional launching facilities are not necessary, construction cost and transport cost are reduced, construction efficiency is improved due to simple joining structure, introduction of prestress for integrating the blocks is facilitated, and work efficiency, water stopping performance, etc., are improved. SOLUTION: Precast blocks 1 of an angular cylinder form in the joining direction are produced in a factory or a nearby factory to a pontoon installation place. Lower parts of end openings of the blocks 1 are closed by stopping plates 2 to generate buoyancy, and they are put to float on the surface. The blocks floating on the surface are pulled by a puller device 3 to be joined with each other, and an external cable type tension member 7 is disposed to be continuous in the joining direction in the blocks joined with each other.
