A synergistic antimicrobial composition comprising: (a) 4,5-dichloro-2-n-octyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one; and (b) copper tebuconazole is disclosed. This antimicrobial composition is suitable for inhibiting the growth of or controlling the growth of microorganisms at a locus and is useful for preserving wood.
