<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating a gallium-containing solution, which can improve the precipitation rate, sedimentation properties and filtration properties of jarosite, in a so-called gallium-jarosite process of efficiently concentrating, separating and recovering gallium from a solution containing a very small amount of gallium. <P>SOLUTION: This treatment method comprises the steps of: (1) preparing the gallium-containing solution; (2) adjusting the pH of the solution into 2 to 4 in the presence of an Fe<SP>2+</SP>ion, an SO<SB>4</SB>ion and a monovalent cation; (4) and (5) introducing a gas containing oxygen into the solution while stirring and heating the solution; and (6) oxidizing the ions to precipitate jarosite. Thereby, the treatment method improves the efficiency of the precipitation rate of gallium due to the formed jarosite. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
