PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus that can easily determine whether or not a peripheral device is connected to an appropriate connector. SOLUTION: A connector 60 can communicate with a connected peripheral device by a first version of predetermined communication standards, and a connector 62 can communicate with a connected peripheral device by the first version of communication standards and a second version superior to the first version in accordance with the version of communication standards of the peripheral device. When a peripheral device is connected to either the connector 60 or the connector 62, a USB 1.1 I/F control part 38 and a USB 2.0 I/F control part 48 detect the version of communication standards of the peripheral device. If the peripheral device is connected to the connector 60 and the detected version is the second version, or if the peripheral device is connected to the connector 62 and the detected version is the first version, a CPU 22 notifies a destination change of the peripheral device.
