PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clamp circuit which never applies unnecessary stress in the clamp circuit of a circuit for which precision and high operation assurance voltage are required. SOLUTION: The clamp circuit comprises: a voltage detection circuit which detects whether voltage applied between two terminals exceeds a prescribed value; and a current amplifier circuit which clamps an external circuit connected between the two terminals when the voltage detection circuit detects exceeding of the prescribed value. The voltage detection circuit has a first transistor, a reversely conducting second transistor to the first transistor, and a two-terminal element. The first transistor and the second transistor have their collector and base connected with each other, and the two-terminal element is connected with the collector of the first or second transistor.
