PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening and closing device capable of easily adjusting a height of an opening and closing body suspended from a movable supporting portion. SOLUTION: An opening and closing device is equipped with a movable supporting portion 41 arranged so as to travel along a rail member 42 extending in a width direction of an opening portion and also with an opening and closing body 10 suspended by the movable supporting portion 41; and the opening portion can be opened or closed by the opening and closing body 10 in the opening and closing device. The opening and closing device monolithically has an adjusting and holding means capable of holding the opening and closing body 10 in a manner approachable to or separable from the movable supporting portion 41 and also has a fixing means capable of negating its movement in an approaching or separating direction at a position adjusted by the adjusting and holding means between the movable supporting portion 41 and the opening and closing body 10.
