PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an inverter drive circuit of a simple circuit structure capable of uniformizing the tube currents of a plurality of discharge lamps without having to use a balancer, regardless of the fluctuations of their impedances. SOLUTION: Serial resonance circuits 51 to 53 are connected in parallel with each other at an output stage of a switching circuit, and primary sides of boosting transformer parts 1 to 3 are connected with resonance capacitors 14 to 16, respectively; while, CCFL 21 to 23 are connected to secondary sides, respectively, of the boosting transformer parts 1 to 3. As a result of this, even if impedances of the CCFL 21 to 23 are changed, there arise voltage changes of resonance capacitors 14 to 16 of the primary sides, in order to correct current changes accompanying the impedance changes, so that each CCFL 21 to 23 is to have substantially the same tube current value.
