<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of checking a temperature sensor without causing any error detection even when the exhaust system temperature is low, for example, just after an engine starts. <P>SOLUTION: A temperature sensor checking device to check a temperature sensor provided in an engine exhaust system, comprises; a means to judge whether a temperature sensor check condition is satisfied according to an engine load area selected by an engine water temperature; and a means to check the output of the temperature sensor when the check condition is satisfied and continues for a predetermined time depending upon the engine water temperature and judge whether the output of the temperature sensor is based on the characteristics of the temperature sensor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
