PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for manufacturing sterilized water capable of producing high-purity sterilized water with a simple structure and preventing chloride gas from being released to an environment. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing sterilized water in which a vertically cylindrical main body 1 provided with an exhaust port 11 on the upper end and a product port 12 on the lower end is used, raw water is let to fall into the vertically cylindrical main body 1 from the upper end side of the vertically cylindrical main body 1, at the same time, sodium hypochlorite and hydrochloric acid are injected at a prescribed interval in the order with respect to the vertically cylindrical main body 1 on the lower side than the falling position of the raw water and a gas is supplied upward in the vertically cylindrical main body 1 from the lower end side of the vertically cylindrical main body 1, whereby the stirring/mixing of the sterilized water is satisfactorily performed.
