Servo press unit with an energy management system including a flywheel storage unit with sufficient capacity, is made so that it has adequate energy at specific points in time in order to bring a started energy cycle to its end. A central control device is provided for monitoring servo drive devices and the flywheel storage unit. An independent claim is included for a process in which a control device controls servo devices for controlling woerkpiece processing operations.
