A method for monitoring a change of a city by using aerial laser survey data and a digital orthophoto image is provided to detect an area of enlarged, new, and illegal buildings quantitatively, and detect various kinds of changes of the city by collecting city environment information periodically based on the aerial laser survey data and the digital orthophoto image. An aircraft including a GPS(Global Positioning System)/INS(Inertial Navigation System) sensor, an aerial laser sensor, and a digital aerial camera captures a target area. A computer extracts and divides the area having an altitude change, which is higher than 15 meters, automatically by comparing altitude data obtained from the aerial laser sensor with the previous altitude data. The computer sets up a boundary of the extracted area as polygonal vector data. The computer makes the digital orthophoto image by correcting the captured image of the target area. The computer constructs a database including the altitude data and the digital orthophoto image. The computer searches the polygonal vector data from the database sequentially and automatically. The computer outputs the previous and new digital orthophoto image of the searched altitude-changed area to a screen. |
