A transmission method of data having time or time and frequency diversity, a device, and a pattern generation method used therefor are provided to obtain time and frequency diversity by expanding patterns for applying time diversity to transmission data up to a frequency domain as well as a time domain, thereby reducing an error rate of a receiving end. Time base direction patterns for showing changes on time base channel characteristics of signals transmitted by each of multiple antennas are generated. Sequential data in time base direction of the signals transmitted through the multiple antennas and sequential signals which constitute the time base direction patterns are multiplied together to generate a data stream having time diversity. The generated data stream is transmitted.
