A process comprising: a sealing-material feeding step in which an uncured sealing material is fed to a first substrate or second substrate; a dropping step in which a liquid mixture of a liquid-crystal material and an additive is dropped into the inside of the sealing material; a laminating step in which the first substrate is laminated to the second substrate through the sealing material and the liquid mixture to form a laminated substrate; and a curing step in which the laminated substrate is brought into given curing conditions while applying a voltage to terminal parts to cure the sealing material and alter the additive and thereby impart a pretilt angle to the liquid-crystal molecules.
