An image capturing apparatus is provided to enable a protrusion to prevent a case for panel from rotating around a second axis by being contacted with an external surface of the case for panel, and perform pressing operations of switches installed on the inner surface of the case for panel even when the external surface of the case for panel is a curved surface. A case main body(12) configures external appearance. A photographing optical system induces an object phase into the case main body. An image capturing device captures the phase induced by the photographing optical system. A case for panel(34) includes a display panel for displaying the image captured by the image capturing device, moves around a first axis on the case main body, and is connected so as to rotate around a second axis orthogonal to the first axis. A receiving surface is installed in the case main body, and coupled with the case for panel. The case for panel has an inner surface where a display surface of the display panel is exposed, and has an external surface which is positioned in a side opposite to the inner surface and in which a section at a surface crossing a virtual extension line of the second axis is curved surface. In the receiving surface, a protrusion(58) is installed. The protrusion is contacted with the external surface and prevents the case for panel from rotating around the second axis.
