PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation therapy equipment controller capable of highly precisely detecting the prescribed region of a subject, and to provide a radiation irradiation method. SOLUTION: The radiation therapy equipment controller 2 controls radiation therapy equipment 3 comprising a therapeutic radiation irradiation device 16 for emitting therapeutic radiation 23, imagers 24, 25, 32 and 33 for generating the imager images of the subject 43 with the radiation passing through the subject 43. The radiation therapy equipment controller 2 includes: a template matching part 64 for calculating coincidence degrees in performing pattern matching of image templates 75-1 to 75-n which are different in positional relation to project the object region 72 of the subject 43 and the non-object region 73 of the subject 43 with the imager images; an affected part position calculating part 65 for calculating the position of the object region through the use of the templates where the coincidence degree is included in a prescribed range among the image templates 75-1 to 75-n; and an irradiation position control part 66 for determining whether the correlative position of the object part 72 with respect to the therapeutic radiation irradiation device 16 is appropriate or not.
