SURFACE LIGHT-EMITTING BODY AND DISPLAY APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light-emitting body capable of changing luminance distribution while highly increasing optical utilization efficiency, and also to provide a display apparatus equipped with the surface light-emitting body. SOLUTION: The surface light-emitting body is equipped with a surface light-emitting element and a light control element that is arranged on the light-emitting surface side of the surface light-emitting element. The light control element includes: two transparent plates that transmit light emitted by the surface light-emitting element; a plurality of trapezoidal light-transmitting transparent elastic members which are clamped by the transparent plates and arrayed, and which have cross sections tapered toward the light-emitting surface side; and an interval varying means for changing an interval between the transparent plates.
