<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a ground (background) from an image, without losing reproducibility of the highlight contained in color image data, when applying background removal processing to color image data in which the highlight is contained. <P>SOLUTION: Printable color material information is input by a printer, and whether each pixel of input data is highlight information in a color area to be reproduced, by using light color materials, is determined based on the color material information; and when it is determined that target pixels are the highlighted data, background removal processing is applied to the pixels under consideration by using the background level for highlight. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
