<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system for a vehicle, capable of transmitting and receiving valid information used for safety control of vehicle traveling while minimizing the cost without using a dedicated device for communication. <P>SOLUTION: A laser radar 2 is set in a front portion of an automobile, and a lighting system 5 is set in a rear portion thereof. The lighting system 5 transmits a modulated light on which predetermined information such as object identification information or traveling speed information is superimposed. The laser radar 2 measures the existing direction and distance of an object (preceding vehicle 4) in the front of the own vehicle 1, and receives the modulated light to receive the predetermined information. Vehicle control or determination of a measurement method of the laser radar 2 is performed by use of the position of the object measured by the laser radar 2 or the received predetermined information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
