<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switch, wherein fluctuation in optical characteristics of an optical switch against external stress or changes in a temperature environment is reduced by a simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: The optical switch 1 aims to switch combinations of optical paths in a plurality of optical fibers 2 at the ends of the optical fibers and comprises: a device body 10 where the plurality of optical fibers 2 are fixed; a lens 3 to be optically coupled to the end of each optical fiber 2; a mirror 4 that is disposed apart from and opposing to the lens 3 and that reflects the exiting light from the lens 3 and allows the reflected light to enter the lens 3; an optical base 6 where the lens 3 and the mirror 4 are fixed; a prism 5 that is freely removably disposed in a space parting the lens 3 from the mirror 4 and switches optical paths in the space; and a structural body 7 having an actuator that drives the prism 5.
