A paste for forming an electrode, a plasma display device, and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to decrease an amount of vapors by adequately adjusting a glass frit amount contained in the paste. A paste for forming a black matrix is applied on an upper substrate(500). A paste for forming an electrode is applied on the paste for the black matrix(510). The substrate is made of glass. The black matrix paste applied on the substrate includes an organic component and an inorganic component. The organic component is burnt out during a firing process. The inorganic component contains a glass frit and cobalt oxide(Co3O4). The glass frit is a melted glass. During the firing process, the paste is attached to the substrate, so that a black matrix is formed on the substrate. A dielectric material is laminated on the upper substrate(520). The black matrix paste, the electrode paste, and the dielectric material are co-fired at the same time(530).
