A METHOD OF THERMALLY TREATING WOOD

There is provided a method of treating wood in a treatment chamber. A plu rality of wood pieces are provided in the treatment chamber. The wood pieces are positioned in a spaced-apart wood array configuration and define a non- linear path therebetween for circulating a gas flow. A gas flow is then circ ulated along the non-linear path between the wood pieces in a general gas fl ow direction.
