PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing for a column capable of reducing generation of vibration by minimizing the generation of difference in level and a clearance on a split portion of an outer ring in using the bearing. SOLUTION: This bearing for a column comprises the outer ring 1 having a combined split portion 10, a cage 2 receiving a plurality of needle-shaped rollers 3 rolling along an inner peripheral face of the outer ring 1, and disposed on an inner peripheral face of the outer ring 1, and an elastic body 4 wrapping the outer ring 1. The split portion 10 of the outer ring 1 comprises two taper-shaped slanted joining face portions 10a, 10b, one slanted joining face portion 10a is slanted from the inner peripheral face toward an outer peripheral face, and gradually thinned toward a distal end, and the other slanted joining face portion 10b is slanted from the outer peripheral face toward the inner peripheral face and gradually thinned toward a distal end.
