<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device for compensating voltage drop of a bit line and its method. <P>SOLUTION: The semiconductor device is provided with at least one monitoring bit line and at least one bit line, a voltage level of at least one monitoring bit line is monitored after pre-charge operation, the predetermined compensation current is supplied to at least one monitoring bit line and at least one bit line based on the monitoring result. Accordingly, since voltage drop due to under pre-charge or leakage current caused in the bit line can be compensated accurately, supply of an unnecessary compensation current is obstructed.
