The pressure between the rollers 1, 2 is released by moving a trip lever 21 either upwardly or downwardly thereby moving a pivoted latch 11 downwardly to its release position. The trip lever 21 is pivoted at 20 and has a cranked portion 18 pivotally connected to the latch 11 by a link 16. The latch 11 is pivoted at 12 and biased by a spring 13 to engage the lower edge 14 of a link 9 which is pivoted at 10 to the wringer frame and at 8 to a link 7. The link 7 is also pivoted at 6 to a member 4 carrying the upper roller.
