<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device and a control method thereof, and an imaging system that can perform suitable white balance processing when only a portion of an image picked up in the presence of lighting is read out to generate an image. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging device includes an imaging element 4 which has a plurality of photoelectric converting elements arranged on an imaging surface, an electronic flash 61 which emits light, and an MPU 14 which controls the imaging element 4 and electronic flash 61. The MPU 14 has a first mode wherein an image signal is read out of a first photoelectric converting element group disposed in a first region on the imaging surface and a second mode wherein an image signal is read out of a second photoelectric converting element group disposed in a second region smaller than the first region on the imaging surface, and computes a correction value for the white balance processing for the image signal read out of the second region in the second mode based upon the image signal read out of the first region in the first mode when an image is picked up in the second mode using the electronic flash. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
